    Well I can't say its come as a shock, after all Irish racing was the only quality programming they had on it and well after they lost that well the future was indeed bleak.
    Now all services will more than likely go to attheraces and what with their already overcrowed shedule its the ordinary punters that are hurt the most.

    Although I'm not a big fan of horseracing, i think it will be a shame to see it go. As cupthehand has said, Irish racing won't get much of a look-in on attheraces with all the UK racing probably getting priority.

    Tis a shame indeed.

    and I saw somewhere where they also are either after or have already got rights to South African, French and American racing so where they are gonna get all the time to fit it in is beyond me, although.....attheraces2...maybe....!!!:D

    Even already somedays on atthraces are chaotic if they are more than three meetings going on in England, its straight from one race to the next sometimes even straight into the middle of a race and imagine if they add on even more meetings to this, maybe an attheraces2 is a viable option

    Several stories & reactions to the closure have now been posted on www.racingpost.co.uk and scroll down to Racing Channel closure.

    There are reactions from Attheraces, RC presenters and punters and the latest on ATR's negotiations with Horse Racing Ireland.

    On the subject of American Racing I hear that the TRNi company are moving to Attheraces to produce their American Racing from Feb 1.
