There seems to be a big slowdown of posts in our racingsims board guys.
    Whats the story?
    Is interest slowing down.
Well for me my love of racing sims is as strong as ever.
GPL,GTR2002 and Nascar 2002 are still totally addictive to me .
Yeah i play all types of games with online first person shooters getting runner up spot after racing.
I do have lots of news almost on a daily basis from some amazing sites for the above mentioned racers.
I just dont post here about it as i presume you guys hear about stuff in the same way as myself.
Would it be of benefit if i post some stuff which may be of interest ,eg Ferrari 312 36v with Mike Parkes car (312/66) v 3.0 out now for GPL! ?????

Yup, i meant to post here bout the GPLEA's new Ferrari release ... and their new BRM, Honda and Eagle releases :)

Also Bruce Johnson's deluxe Brabham is a big improvement on the older model.

I've been busy getting a monster rank in GPL, so i had to learn to drive the Eagle, Lotus and BRM. I've got my GPL down to +29 or so and had my best GPL league result at the weekend, a damn fine 2nd at SPA in the UKLRS :)

Way to go butcher,i dont really bother with gplrank probably because im slow:)
I love Bruces New Braby and all the new GPLEA cars especially the new ferrari with the glass surround windshield ,that cockpit is just gorgeous.
I got myself an excellent new soundpack too gpsoundsWBVo.2.
Klas has made some stunning new textures for silverstone, kyalami, rouen and a few more ,they are very nice and add a lot to the tracks.
What system r u running GPL on?
I cant wait till i get isdn ,should be a lot better than 56k and disco probs ive had for the past 3 years on VROC.

On a side issue wouldnt it be great if we had some sort of GPL tent at a big Mondello meeting or something ,similar to what our GPL buddies did at Goodwood last year.
Its more than likely not possible but no harm in dreaming i suppose.
Id love to generate interest in the King of racing sims here in Ireland, it would be tough as most here are in to console stuff.

i was on a p2 400 128mb with a gf2 mx32 but bought some bits n bobs for myself for christmas and now am on a p4 2ghz, 512mb ddr ... GPL looks rather nicer now :). I've a MS FF Wheel n pedals without which i wouldn't have started playing gpl again, first tried it with a joystick a few yrs back.

I've been too busy lately to play gpl, I can't wait to be finished college tbh :)

dcully, I think a gpl tent at mondello would be a cool idea ok, the game actually runs acceptably on my laptop :)

Well love playing my racing sims though i have slown down a bit of gaming lately. And even though i have played a few new ones latly Mick shooe makers karting, need for speed hot persuit. I dont really have anything to say about them as i have only scratched the surface on these games.

ive eased off my pc gaming since i got my ps2 chrimbo/bday too. but i have been playing gran turismo 3 a lot. im actually warming a lot to its physics. once the traction control is off it handles pretty well.

i have found that GT is fantasic at modeling low to medium speeds but grand prix legends id best for hight speeds. but saying that papyrus does not manage to get the feeling of momentum in their sims. even in nascar 2002 with the cars weighing in at almost 2 tonnes they are way way to nimble in changing direction. suppose a good ff wheel is needed to counter that affect.

force steering wheel is cool with gpl and nr2002.
it's especially good with nr2002- but ESPECIALLY good on gpl :)
It actually helps you to drive more reliably because you can feel the car about to loose traction. it still cannot really let you feel just how hard you are braking though.. you'll have to buy a ferrari312 or lotus49 for that.

i just got my spa time down to 3:18:40 in an eagle. man I love that track

I feel like im Naked without a Force feedback wheel.
Your simply not driving until you feel the forces.
Discostu, GT3 aint bad in physics department, gfx are lovely as are cars but its big downfall is only 6 cars in a race and the dreadful AI,i find it very hard to race with really good AI never mind poor AI .I simply need to be racing real live folk online!
