Just bought the DVD. I know its historically inaccurate, but I thought it was a fairly decent and entertaining film.

Anyone else think its any good?

To be honest, it bored me to tears. Started OK, but as soon as they landed in the city, it was 2 hours of repetitive shooting, explosions and banal dialogue. Snoozefest.

That movie is ****ing insulting to anyone who has a decent grasp of the events of the world. But what else do we expect from a greedy, shortsighted, militant, xenophobic, hypocritical, narcissistic and irresponsible country that is the most destructive influnece on global politics the world has ever known.

I thought it was ok. I like the actions scenes but it didn't tell the story too well I thought. It just seemed be a disjoint series of battles. They could have explained what was happening better. I know thats what it was like, but this was a film after all and should have tried to tell the story a bit better. The cinematography was very good. Still I enjoyed it. The book is very good and gives you a lot more detail of why things happened and how they happened. If you liked the film I urge you to get the book. Theres a game coming out too soon. Theres a multiplayer demo on the web somewhere. The graphics in it are very good.

Well I liked it, thought the battle scenes were excellent and it had some nice touchs aswell, wouldn't mind seeing it again sometime.

tbh the politics of the situation were left at the door when the film was made(it was very loosly based on the book). it was simply a story of people trying to stay alive in a very hostile situation. as for the action scenes, amazing is the only way to describe them.

That could be said of a lot of war movies. In a situation like existed in that country at that time theres no easy answers. The film was simply what happened from the us side. No more no less. Of course this being the film forum, if I wander too off topic and into the poltics track someone is likely to close the thread, so I won't.

oh i hated this film. It was just sooooo boring, and stupid. Wanted to leave the cinema about half way through it, but some of my friends seemed to enjoy it.

Read the book, its absolutely harrowing, some of the descriptions are frightening and you find yourself thinking 'what the hell would I have been like in that situation'

Some of the jock-hero-GIJoe type banter and attitudes in the book seem a bit laughable but then I suppose it must be like that in the Special Forces

It was all right, it isn't a must buy. the story itself is so simple a dog could pick it up.the action scenes aren't ''mega''violent like saving private ryan or scarface, but it's an average war flick by my standards.
