So do you just collect and paint your army or do you go to meetings and play other people in battles.

Well I mainly collect them but have played 3 battles(in Limerick).
Lost them all unfortunatly but it was fun.

Do you collect or Play?? 7 votes

Myself and a few mates had gotten into this after frequest games of heroquest and space crusade about 9/10 years ago, we all went out and bought the game, built up a growing collection of models etc. Apart from the odd 2v2 skirmishes every few weeks I was only really interested in the painting aspect. I think in the 3 years I was collecting I played 2 proper 1v1 games.

Are you still collecting them or not??? Just wondering you know. I still am at a very slow pace though(lack of funds at the moment and need to buy paint)

I always loved painting them, I will never run out of paints either, I have a box with 150 paints in them (I got them all for £10!!). I have played a few battles with my brother, but mainly just collecting :)

Well i had to vote for collect as i havent played a game in over a year i never seem to get time for a game and i have never played in organised events. Uasually with friends or down my loacal workshop.
Though the odd game of quest still gets pulled out every now and then. For quest i have started collecting monsters from all sorts of armys so that i can have a real bloodletter instead of a chaos dwarf to reresent the model on the board.

I do plan to start playing some real table top battles in the near future. Not sure what yet.

been collecting on and off for about 7-8 years at this stage I think (can't remember what age I was when i started tbh)

Still haven't got a properly structured army, need to paint up my fire prism, get a few more falcons, vypers and a slew of jetbikes.
Need a blast of warlocks too, and a wraithguard detatchment, plus a few more wraithlords with different configs.
A new complement of aspect warriors would go down nicely too. Imadeaballs of the previous setby trying to paint them too fast.
Once I get painting gems down i'll be set, just have to master fine highlighting then to be up to decent standard.

No runfree I don't still collect, I have everything sitting on display in my room. I am keeping the paints incase I ever decide to get back into it, but mainly to paint a set of santons for my girlfriend's familiy's nativity scene, and show them how models should be painted;)

*edit* as for picking up paint I would suggest you build up your selection gradually, I think I bought maybe 2 new colours a week when I was poor and over a few months my pallete grew to about 40-50 pots, although most were retired and I only used about 15 main colours + inks as I prefered mixing my own. there was just the odd time the other colours would come out. You can get fantastic results with a limited pallete if you are very selective of what colours it comprises, so either have a good idea beforehand of your style of painting or start with basic colours and expand when you really need to.
