    right xmms in redhat 8 wont play mp3's, it plays the .ogg's easily???

    its version 1.2.7


    any1 got any ideas?

    redhat 8 doesnt come with an mp3 codec on the discs, you'll have to download one from the net and install it.

    I'd suggest a trip to http://psyche.freshrpms.net/ for a bunch of RedHat 8-specific packages, including a replacement xmms. Trouble is freshrpms.net seems to be broken right now.
