"I am mighty! I have a glow you cannot see. I have a heart as big as the moon, as warm as bathwater. We're superheroes, man! We don't have time to be charming! The boots of evil were made for walking. We're watching the big picture, friend. We know the score. We are a public service, not glamour boys! Not captains of industry! Not makers of things! Keep your vulgar moneys. We are a justice sandwich, no toppings necessary! Living rooms of America, do you catch my drift? Do you...dig?"

My god! What a fantastic cartoon!

Pity they dont make it any more...
I know it's not that retro, only being early ninties, and all...
    But oh my, the memories!
"You know gang, when you're a superhero, you never know where the day will take you. You may find yourself halfway around the world in the shark-infested waters of true-to-life living. Or you may find yourself going down to the store for a lozenge. You can't know, can you? No! You gotta ride that wave, you gotta suck that lozenge! Cause if you don't, who will?"

Oh man, this forum is about things that I'm too young to understand but my god the tick is my kind of cartoon! Every episode is a quote central and with the funniest villians and super heros I've ever seen. Who knew being a super hero could be an every day occupation :D

But in all seriousness I would give my right testical (not old lefty, he's close to my heart) for the tick in a dvd box set.

What would be the legality of downloading episode of The Tick?
Obviously it isn't being aired any more, and there's probably no plans to release it on DVD.
    So is it basically Abandon-Ware?

"Yeah, the first patrol is usually pretty quiet. Your average villain prefers the cover of night. You get the occasional evil morning person but rarely before seven. I don't know why that is. By seven-thirty, eight o'clock, evil is wide awake. But we're even wider! We've been up since six-thirty! Hello TV land! I love this show! I watch this every week."

Exactly the same as grabbing mp3s ("abandonware" is an oft overused (or misused) term wrt copyright, even where the company doesn't give a rats about it)

    I won't tell if you don't:)

    www.newenglandcomics.com

Home of The Tick comics and toys. They appear to only sell one episode on video though. And it's no doubt NTSC too. Bastards.

    We want The Tick DVD!

    (And Earthworm Jim)

"EAT DIRT, NEFARIOUS SQUEAKY-HEADED BASTION OF EVIL, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
    "You call that a battlecry?"
"Well, you see, I'm a worm, and-"
"I invented battlecries! What's he going to do now?"
"Oh, he's just going to maul me for a while."
    "Bit of a draw-back in a sidekick, isn't it?I invented sidekicks! I invented invention!"

Not an actual quote, mind, but they were all featured at some stage, in some order. Hehehe...

Oh, and now I hate you digital people even more.

"Not... the Fabled, Longsought, Home of the Gods?! Thousands have searched for it and perished!"
"Yes... but I have something they didn't have - the Phonebook of the Gods! Now, let's see... ah, here we are, 'Gods, Home of the, Fabled Longsaught.'"

Oh man, this forum is about things that I'm too young to understand

Retro is Retro lads! I'm not familiar with 'The Tick' myself. A good friend of mine used to watch it religiously (with associated evangelising).... I think I may have watched an episode once, and recall chortling heartily.

As regards the legality of downloading episodes.... Well, I'm not a lawyer but copyrighted material remains the property of the copyright holder. The potential of the show being re-aired would- I imagine- be reduced if it were widely circulated in warezland.

Is it not commercially available at all (besides airing on Fox kids last night)?

i used to love the way the tick used to run across all the buildings, breaking the edges off every one.

when i saw the matrix for the first time in the cinema,in the part where the agent chases trinity across the buildings near the start, well when he landed and nearly cracked the ground i nearly it reminded me of the tick and i nearly pissed myself laughing and for the whole film i was s******ing "SPOOOON" to myself. :D
