Quite a good RTS game this , building giant robots with about 50 different parts and fighting on 3 planes , pity its so fu<king difficult even for someone who plays these games alot. But worth of the 80 meg warez download none the less.

Ahhh i usually only download something thats worthwhile and wont play like ****e if its missing anything , if i particularily like one and i cant find the addons and such , i'd probably buy it , i say probably cos i havent bought one yet!

I bought Shogun because it deserved to be bought , simple as that , same as with HL , it deserved to be bought , the developers and all the rest deserved to be paid for giving us these magnificant titles .
SO all you cheap ignorant people that simply DL these titles are potentially crippling the developers from lack of sales etc. After all , the guys that make the games only get a couple of quid for each sale, the rest goes to packaging etc.

I sometimes d/l the games but Thats mainly because I live up round monaghan and I only be in dublin once a month or so to actually buy games, if the games good and Im still playing it after the first few days I buy it, if not I just delete it, Ive bought about 25 titles over the past 2 years, the warez just helps me to sort out the rubbish from the good games without paying £30 a go.

Indeed. I'm currently having fun laughing at all the people trying to warez Shogun: Total War.... Since the game is a 1.2Gb full install, either the download is utterly ridiculous, or it'll have so much stuff ripped out of it it won't even be playable. Not to mention that you won't get 5 minutes into Shogun without the benefit of the (exceptionally large and heavy) manual...

No actually , i have bought one , i bought soul reaver. Cant say i'd ever bother buying anymore cos i dont think i've really found many PC games that i would play to any great extent. Most of the games i've downloaded are lying unplayed in burned Cd's and will probably stay that way.
You could always use the anime fansub ethics to cover up DL games , but i'm not that lame.

So how many Warez have you downloaded? How many do you still play and haven't bought yet? Or better yet how many did you play to completion but then didn't buy?

Developer companys have this thing called "a demo". Try it sometime and stop stealing.

I've warezed 4 games, bought 2 of them and I'll be buying shogun soon, I didnt think much of ground control so Im just gonna delete it, I wouldnt bother with warez if it werent for the fact that I only get a chance to buy games when Im up at a LAN every month or 2, so Ive stolen one game and I'll be deleting that soon

I think i've played sweet **** all games to completion and half of them i play once and never again , i'm not much of a PC games fan and most of their single player games leave something to be desired in the "come back and play me NOW" department, cos i can never be bothered.

Well I find Warez stupid really. Nothing but A bunch of ****ing 'barely legal teens' and 'Britney Spears NAKED!' pop ups. Actually having dabbled with it , last night was the first time I ever actually got something off a Warez site. A ripped version of Paint Shop Pro. And I do not want to have any abuse thrown at me becuase plenty of people get their photoshop and what have you off 'a friend of a friend' so to speak.

I think when most people refer to Warez , they are refering to illegal programs , games and maybe MP3's , but not usually porn ( or as most warez tits call it Pr0n )

Yes Pheonix, but most Warez sites are full of pr0n popups and whatnot.

Mike - the thing about Photoshop and the likes is that individuals really can't afford those programs. The warezing of them is still not right, I fully admit, but it's a grey area, because if you learn to use photoshop on warez, if you then get a job with a design company, they'll buy a full photoshop licence for you to use... So it does come around to Adobe in the end. Games are only about 30 quid though, so there really is no excuse.

However has anyone actually tried to contact Adobe and see what other options they offer?

I know some places offer full version software, you just can't produce a finished a product in them. If you had this option would you stop warezing?

Oh hold on ... here it comes..... i don't give a fu<k , i don't care about PC developers , and it doesn't pain me at all , much like the many hundreds like me to rob from them. I could use excuses like games are over priced , but the fact is , i dont care. I support games companies i like , those being console companies only. I'll stop downloading warez games , when they put enough protection in to stop them being copied , until then , they're asked for them to be hacked and for me and hundreds like me who don't give a toss. Don't protect something... it'll be taken!

Company: Oh no sir! We've knocked several hundred pounds off the price of 3D Studio Max, and fifty pounds off the price of Photoshop.

Riiiiiiiiight. I don't use 3DSMax for anything, so I didn't bother, but it's a skill I would have LIKED to have learned properly. I bought a licence for Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop can go p1ss into the wind.

I've paid for full copies of things like Delphi and Office because I use them so much.

But frankly, when it comes to a product that costs thousands of pounds, I think a young person warezing it in order to learn it benefits the creator in the end. If there was a version that let you have all the functionality but crippled it in the end (maybe 3DSMax vids and renders could only be viewed using a special keyed codec so they couldn't be distributed or something), I think that would certainly ease a lot of the problem.

Bugs - you are a criminal. I don't like Ford. I think I'll steal one of their cars tomorrow - after all, I don't have to support them, I don't like them! Of course, if it was a Toyota I'd pay for it, because I like them...

And you say my replies are moronic , i couldn't give a fu<k whether you like ford or not , chances of me going to jail for warezing a game compared to you for nicking a car as somewhat different.
As long as someone out there is willing to give me something for free irregardless of the legality , i'll take it.
I could go into the whole ethics and the 'actual' legal standpoint in that a person who downloads warez isn't a criminal at all. Remember , the laws of electronic information in this country anyway , are far from being even useful.

And as for copying console games hobbes , how stupid are you , of course you can copy them , i got my psx modded to play import games which i bought cos i had a general interest in having the full game and packaging, i like console games but it never enters my mind that i'm supporting them in any way. As for PC developers , i dont like 75% of their stuff , but i'll take whats out there anyway.
