I am considering getting Sky Digital and was wondering if you could fill me in on a few questions.
    • What is an FTA/FTV card?
    • Can you get English BBC, not BBC NI and ITV, not UTV?

An FTV card is a card that allows you to receive all of the UK Terrestrial tv and radio channels plus BBC Choice and BBC 4.
You have to get it through the UK.
You can get any UK region you want dependent on where you source the card.
    See http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73425 for details.

If I am just subscribing to SKY for the first time, would I have any hassle with using an English FTV card?

Also, could I use the English FTV with box connected to the phone line?

    Q1: No

Q2: Yes, though it's advised to disconnect it, just in case!
