I got a loan of GTA3 off a friend and I get the following errors when I try to launch it: "The D3D8.DLL file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:DdEntry12" The other one points to the GTA folder and says: "A device attached to the system is not functioning" I thought it was just gta that was acting all screwy but I tried…

I thought it was just gta that was acting all screwy but I tried to run the Atari Jaguar emulator and I got the same 2 errors.

Anyone know how to fix this?

looks like a directx problem. have you upgraded to dx9? that might be the problem(i never upgrade to a newer directx unless a game needs it). the only thing you can really do is reinstall it.

Ive tried reinstalling and same thing happened, Ill get the new directx so.

Try downloading them dll`s from the net and replacing them with the current ones , make a back up of the old ones first .
