Happy Christmas everyone. Just got myself a new 60 GB Maxtor ATA133 hard drive. I have a ghost image of my existing hard drive which is a 6 GB drive UDMA33 running W2K (AFAIK). The question is can I just put this image onto the new drive or do I need to remove IDE controllers etc, and take a new image for W2K to recognise the speed of the new drive?

Humm. This will probaby work instead of the ghost image.
    MaxBlast Plus II from Maxtor.
EZ-Copy lets you make an exact duplicate of your existing hard drive.
Anyone used it and is it reliable?

You should be able to ghost down onto the new HD and let win2k autodetect the new drive or if necessary, install the drivers yourself. This has worked for me in the past...
