Could we make this a sticky, if it's suitable/not putting boards.ie into a dodgey position.
'Course, tis arguable that this is just providing info...

A list of file sharing apps, the "super-netowork" they're part of, the control method(s) they use (direct gui client, text based, web-based remote gui/text), what port(s) they use, and what OS they are available on.

I'm particularly interested in stuff that runs on 32-bit x86 linux/unix and 64-bit Solaris :)

There are clones of most filesharing programs available for linux I believe. Dunno of any which would run from command line though.( Audiogalaxy used to though, so maybe there are )

Kazaa all WIN plaforms awful awful program only use for that one song you cant find elsewhere.

Direct Connect All Win platforms port: 411 /2 Useful for chat and sharing but best used within communites and unknown users not allowed in (ie boards hub must be within the boards community or mate no swedish 200 gig porn spoofers allowed)

Emule/Edonkey The best imo it may take an age but it gets there in the end. All win platorms not sure about ports.
