question re: second hard drive

I had 2 hard drives set up on my last computer - one as a master and the second as a slave on the same cable. I got a new pc, and took the slave out and into the new pc, but when i connect it the computer doesnt find either the existing or the second hard drive. Do I need to mess around with those fecky little things…

Do I need to mess around with those fecky little things (jumpers?) again or might it be something different?
