    you mean it just pauses?
If so then I have had this problem as well.
I dont remember completely, but at the
time I thought it was a network problem.

Windows tends to install ipx by default,
you might try removing it if you've got it,
and then sc wont sit listening for ipx
traffic. dunno if this will help, just rang
a bell somewhere in my hungover head.

If it's accessing the CD at the same time...

    Right click on "My Computer"
    select properties
take far right tab and select file system.
Switch off all CD-ROM cache and read-ahead.

Unless you have a slow machine you don't need it.

Nah tried doing both of those, thought it was ipx , i had installed it just before the thing started happening , but it isnt the problem , the machines fast enough , p3-600,
I don't have a clue why its doing it , guess i'll have to live with it.

Is it a fresh install of sc?

Yup , re-installed it once again last night.
And now it wont let me connect to battle.net anymore , complains about not being able to read my version , and a reistry problem , for which there is no key!!!
Stupid piece of toss , very tempted to re-install windows :P
