how do you store your ps2?

I heard vertical can scratch the cds, but i also heard vertical stops the ps2 dieing cause the fans are not sucking in dust from the ground. (the fans under the cd tray)

Ever since I seen a post by Shinji warning that the PS2 can break a lot quicker in the vertical position I have left it in it's horizontal position. BTW if you do leave it in a horizontal position don't put it on carpet!

Ive had mine horizontal since i got it in september, on the Tv stand, standard generic stand that comes with any Tv but it stopped working last week, more than likely cause it was covered in dust and crap.

Horizontal. It's based on anecdotal evidence really, but from speaking to various retailers, EVERY ps2 they've had returned with CD problems has been stored vertically. Seems that the little widget that holds the DVD in place in the drive is too loose in a lot of PS2s, so the disc wobbles and bashes off the laser mounting if it's vertical... That's the theory anyway.

Storing horizontally is fine, but as someone else said, DON'T sit it on carpet! It'll suck fluff into the fan ports and fluff beside electronics which get VERY hot is bad... :)
