Can I restrict the amount of users on my PC connecting to the Internet, I have Win Xp but I'm not familiar with the admin tools though.

i'm not quite sure what you are asking but it looks like you can set up a simple password with your dial up window (if it is a modem)

if thats all that should stop anyone , now if they did try and set up a different internet connection don't give them admin properties in user accounts :)

They know that password, Is there anything to make the connection hidden or disable it for certain users

can't you just delete the connection and set up a new one with a new password

    run>inetwiz

    ;)

That Password verifies that you can connect to your ISP, I don't think that one is user definable. Hopefully we are on about the same password yoke.;)

Well presuming you have admin rights, you can just remove the internet connection from each users account i'd have thought?
Other wise, go to Start> Control panel > Net + Internet connections > Network connections>

Right click on your dial up account, go to Properties>Advanced > Allow other users to use this connection and untick that box.

what ver. do you have eth0_?

judging by the posts, i reckon he/she wants to keep one universal account and doesn't want to give whoever it is (younger kids?) there own xp log in account, but you could then make it limited..

but i presume you wanna keep an eye on their meanderings anyway

Thats for other PC's on the network, I'm talking about users on the internet gateway PC itself.

    Is proxy easy to use?
