whats wrong with the 3 or 4 of you talking about it here?

This has been brought up time and time again. For a section that has Angling and Pro Wrestling (even though it's NOT A SPORT), a GAA forum would be welcome. You'd get more GAA posts if you created the section. However, you probably won't get many this time of the year, as it's off-season.

So moderator, it's the most popular spectator sport in the country, give it up...create a GAA forum. Eh, please.

lads were not some evil "west brit" organisation here to prevent the GAA from getting a forum all of its own..

But right now you dont need one all of your own..

As you say, if you snowball, and you get a good bunch of people posting quite often and then we will be happy to sort you out..

But like the ye olde Rugby forum, I dont think there are enough people have enough chats to justify a new forum - yet!

Thanks vaGAAbond... and thanks for using my snowball referance...I spent a long time working on that.

HEHE rugby union...those D4's scrum buggers should not get a board before a GAA board.

Maybe we should have a trial run for a GAA board next championship season. If it does not get the use take it down, but if it does leave it running.

    I agree with waylander!!!

Yeah come on you've seen the amount of replies for GAA messages! There are far more people replying to this thread than anyone in the sci-fi forum for instance!!!

Lads this has come up many times. In fact I reckon there have been more threads about starting a GAA forum than actual GAA posts.

There are two ways this board will come into being.

Firstly if myself and vagga see a dramatic increase in GAA related posts and feel it warrents is own board we will request the admins to set one up. This on current volumes of GAA posts is not going to happen.

Secondally you can request a GAA board be set up on the Admin board yourselves. If enough people support your request I'm sure the admins will take appropriate action. Be aware thou if you set up a board and very little interaction occurs it will be reamalgamated into Sports. This has already happened to Rugby.

Are you blind man, there are lots of gaa posts in here, far more compared to angling.
so explain why they have got a board and we aint

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

OK there are 5 GAA related posts on this board. 2 of those are asking for a GAA board to be set up so they do not count imho. Thats leave 3, now I personally think thats a pathetic amount of posts to ask for a separate board.

Angling started off as a community board and in a reorganisation by the admins was moved here. Its something that I do not agree with but they own and run this site so they make the rules. I feel looking at it that it should not have a separate board as the volumes of interactivity do not justify one.

Pro Wrestling was set up because I also do not classify it as Sport and moved threads from here on a regular basis. They got a separate forum due to their own campaign to the admins. It got moved into sport again during a re-org. The sad thing for all the GAA fans is that there are around 6 times more Wrestling posts than GAA ones.

    Gandalf.

Ok I feel a little annoyed by all this.

Seriously Brew and waylander are right.

Lets wait till the C'ship kicks off next year, we can ask the admin's
for our own GAA board. Im sure The amount of posts will have picked up by then.
Considering, I joined Boards at the start of the month
and there was no talk of GAA at all Im impressed with the start we have made. Couple of months time, there will be no choice to have a decidated GAA section !

I've been searching through this forum and found some threads on pleading our case, these are just a cuple, unfortunatley none have suceeded. But i did see lots of threads on GAA. #1
    #2

and now im going to have to agree and admit with the mods, that there just isn't enough talk about Gaa, its the same with lots of other sports i found along my journey they just have to use the sport forum and believe me there are lots of other sports here they were being talked about before Alany, others and i joined boards.ie. Yet these sports don't have any borads of their own.

i don't know if any of the above ahs made any sense to u but it does 2 me at this present time.
