can anyone advise on what are the advantages of buying my own digibox are.

I currently have a sub to sky but unfortunately the box has become the worst for were and an independant engineer has advised me that the box will not last much longer.

Also how much would a new box cost

A new box costs about 400. If you're still on the first year of your sub (if you got it as a Sky special install), you should be under warranty and be able to get the box replaced free of charge.

www.satelite.ie takes you to a clothes shop, as I just discovered!

www.satellite.ie will take you to where you want

Hey you are not the only one, I get 20 mails a day from satelite sports and have given up telling them to check their address's. I guess the guy who started the shop could not spell. They should do the decent thing and offer me a million for the name.

I still cringe any time I walk past the local shop. The thought of idiots dancing somewhere always comes to mind.

Back on-topic:), if the box is still within the first twelve months, get Sky to replace it for nadda

If it's outside the twelve months, you'll have to get a box yourself as the free offer only applies once.

Personally I'd probably go the ebay route or perhaps here (don't know anything about them though). If you're going to get a new one, I'm sure Tony's satellite.ie is at least as competitive as anywhere else.

    Re: digiboxes.co.uk

I'm sure they are fine but I find their description of a tuner as "High Gain" a little strange, such a thing has not been invented yet.
