    Good ole Pastor Of Muppets.
    First Metallica album I got.

The first Metallica album I bought was Metallica. It was the best thing I've ever heard but then I discovered the old albums which just got better and better the earlyer they go. But I'd have to say Justice is THE best.

I can't decide. I love every Metallica, from kill em all and master of puppets, to S & M and the Load twins.

Master of Puppets, but im lookin out for the S&M album, really wanna hear coz i have a live video of master of puppets with the orchestra and it feckin rocks :)

Whilst I would have to say that my overall fav. "consistent" album is definitely Puppets, I am also a BIG fan of S&M (my formerly being in an orchestra wouldn't make me biased now would it? ;) )

My favourite has to be Ride the Lightning. There are no songs on any other Metallica album that can even come close to songs like "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Fade To Black", "Creeping Death" and "The Call of Kthulu".

i'd say S&M, loved it to bits

although if i had to pick a studio album, it'd be a toss between ride the lightning and puppets

Puppets definately, followed by ride the lightning

Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning - can't pick between the two.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 331 ✭✭metalish

i'm more into the old stuff so i went with 'ride the lightning'

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,223 ✭✭✭OLDYELLAR

yeah ride the lightning definetely be my favourite one anyways

Im surprised at how few people have chosen the Black Album, I think its class. I haven't heard all of Master Of Puppets so I guess Im gonna have to stick it on my Christmas shopping list!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,975 ✭✭✭Oeneus

Yes, The Black Album is a bloody good'un. But Puppets IS far better!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,136 ✭✭✭Pugsley

Puppets is their best IMO, ride the lightning not far behind.
But i think so few people voted for black album because thats when metallica started going downhill.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 221 ✭✭black_wizardd

    Gotta be Puppets.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,144 ✭✭✭Runfree

would have to be the black album(metallica) for me after that S&M & Master of Muppets(i mean Puppets)

I chose puppets, but I can't believe how few votes justice got, how the hell can lightning and the black album get the same, and that S&M thing get more lol.

Puppets, followed closely by S+M, followed by Ride the Lightning

The S+M version of The Call of Ktulu is possibly the the coolest thing I've ever heard

well arent load, re-load and garage inc popular? I think their sheer amount of votes says where metallica have went recently *points at toilet*.

Yea, couldn't agree more. Ride gets my vote too. Master of Puppets is a close second... Have never listened to S&M so i'll have to get it soon...

Nice to see no votes whatsoever for (Re)Load or Garage inc...

I say Ride The Lightning, but I understand how people mostly prefer Master of Puppets, after all it is a blinder of an album.

I've heard that their new album is a return to the old form, so maybe they're not a lost cause yet. Here's hoping...

    Dead on mate.

I have every metallica album, vinyls, fan cans, live ****: binge & purge, etc.

Ride the Lightning is the best album.

well and justice for all is the best. master is good, but the forementioned is better imo

I thought Garage Inc was great, but it just can't compare to actually Metallica songs.

I see And Justice for All.. is getting a good few votes.

I think this is one of Metallica's worst albums. Bass is drowned out, guitars and drums are too heavy, etc.

Metallica themselves have even admitted it wasn't a great album in hindsight.

That album's only saving grace is One and Harvester of Sorrow.

...And Justice for All is so underrated. The guitar sound on that album is the best I've ever heard anywhere, really shredding palm muting sound, yet not too extreme. There are many individual tracks that can compete with the material on MOP, but I think it just doesn't come together as an album quite as well as MOP.

Well, I don't really respect their opinion in anything anymore, especially after praising Linkin Park. ;)

    They did what?
    Deary me!

This is probably one of the main reasons why Jason left Metallica. I don't think Lars, James or Kirk ever trusted him. I think they were afraid that they would lose the sound that Cliff gave em. Well they've certainly done that now.

ive only heard "justice" once but have you noticed on their last few tours the only song they play of it is one,as far as i know they play **** all else of it.

Master has to be their best album, its their most cohesive, and every song is just fukin savage, apart from leper messiah which is just alrite
never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Clearly it has to be Master of Puppets, though followed closely by Ride the Lightning. I haven't heard either in years as I vowed never to buy or listen to them again after they booted me off Napster. :) ****ers.

    Teeth.

I've heard that too. 3rd hand info granted, but apparently a direct quote from the editor of Kerrrang (I think).
    It's heavier than 'Ride'

I find it difficult to choose between the studio albums. At a squeeze, I'd probably go for Ride the Lightning. S&M is great though and I listen to it now more often than the others.

Hope they play No Leaf Clover at the August gig. Great song, that.

Ride the Lightning by a nod for me

Although I love And justice for all, Metallica Black, and Master of Muppets as much! :)
