    Check out the Genesis 3D Engine. It's a fully featured engine and you can do what you want with it. The great idea about it is that the community is continually improving it and if you're a whiz at programming you can tweak it to your hearts content. Including a demo game using the engine, source, editor, 3dMax compatability, virtually all the graphical features of most modern engines. :-
