Brian Kid is being touted... but last night Kevin Moran confirmed he has his hat in the ring... Well he can shove it up mine cos I wouldn't rate the guy...

Brian Kerr for manager... If he sucessful great... If not in two years their will be significat new interest... Dealing with RK is a sore subject in this race to be Ireland next manager...

I also heard that Brian Kidd wants it as a part time job. He wants to remain assistant Leeds boss as well! The cheek!

I think he wants to do it part-time if Moran gets it, I think that is what I heard

Heres another thoery. Bryan Hamiltion who is part of the newly formed FAI selection panel used to play for Ipwisch then he left but returned to work alongside George Burley who last night turned down the chance to manage Stoke City. Maybe there is a connection there which will bear fruit...?

    Mike.

Yeah I think Burley would be good, but would he accept less that half of what he was on at Ipswich?

why would anyone want Brian Kerr for manager? yes hes had success with the FAI 'kids' teams, but hes not qualified for the full international post. Has he ever gone up against the FAI over anything? I've not heard of him doing so so I can only assume hes another FAI yes man, which is exactly what we don't need.

We need a manager that has had success in a senior managers role and will command the respect of the players, and is willing to put his job on the line and go up against the FAI when and if thats needed.

i'd prefer if Brian Kerr stayed with the youth team and we got an experiences manager in.

I'd like it if he prooved himself at the highest level first.
We seem to be in the minority tho.

Most of those "Kids" he trained in the under 20 world cup were 19 and 20 years old and most of them were on professional contracts in England so they were hardly Kids.Kerr is a respected Coach among other coaches in european football as shown by Geard Houlliour(sp?) offering him the job as head of youth Development at Liverpool.

Case in point Houillour got the Liverpool job as he had a excellent record with the french underage teams and i think we can agree he hasnt done a bad job with Liverpool.

I think people are only against kerr cos they have never seen him manage a team that they rate before now. Why should this count against him?

If Arsene Wegner was being touted for the job 5 years ago, people would be saying the exact same thing - who is he? J-league, dont make me laugh.

    Ditto Aime Jaquet.

What I'd like to see would be Kinnear getting it with Kerr as his assistant.

Kerr taking over in 2 or 4 years time.

Though tbh I wouldn't mind Kerr getting it now.
