yeah but i think all they need are a couple of lucky results to set them on the right track and then bobs ur uncle

I think they can acutually do it, they have fantastic experience all over the pitch and seem to have the heart now to do it, if they can take point of us, the arse and pool then I can see them give us all a run for it.
Must say I would be delighted to see Zola win it, he must be the biggest gent playin soccer, I have a lot of respect for the guy.

Also hats off the gronkier (spellin!) for defending Unsworth there on Saturday, I think if a play begs the ref not to send off one of the opposition then he deserves to be listened to and applauded

yeah well done to gronkjaer for saying what he did after the match aswell also they were a little lucky to win (le sauxs clearance off the line) but isn't that how all teams win the league with some luck!!!!

They are playing very well atm but i dont think they have enough depth in the squad to win it. There are bound to be an injury or two during the season and i wonder if the players they bring in will be able to handle it.
Also it is unlikely Zola will keep this kind of form the whole way through to the end of the season.

a great bet for a champions league spot..

What happens if zola gets injured tho..

Chelsea are playing very well but in recent years they havn't been the most reilable team over the course of an entire season.

Desailly and Gallas look very solid at the back and Zola is on fire again.

Even if they do continue to play well I think that Arsenal, Liverpool and United will come out with enough points against them to stop them winning the league.

Alot of talk of them losing player when the transfer window reopens, particularly Gudjohnsen and Cudicinni. If they are to have a realistic go at the league they will need to keep all their players.

yeah i know there is talk of them losing players but i don't think they will lose any players and even if they do lose gudjohnsen it is not like he is prolific this season

They definitely won't sell Cudicini or Gudjohnsen ... they've been far too important in the last year.

exactly leeroy i don't think they will sell anyone honestly

They are somewhere in between 79 & 90m in debt. i do not think they want to sell players, but they may have to. And Cudicinni and Gudjohnsen are the two being talked about most. Personally I would love to see United sign both of them,

Chelsea wont last until May,Defo for the champions league i'd say with maybe a dark horse for one of the cups.

They wont win it but the CL is definitly on, I'm impressd by the way Ranieri has turned having no money to his advantage, simply start playing the guys who were on the fringes or might well ahev been sold on. They had to make do and they done it well. I read that
Zola is seriously considering playing on into next season. Chelea
were my favourite "other" premiership team under Vialli so I'd kind of like to see em do well just not too well.

Thier final standing will no doubt depend on how they play Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

    Mike.

Chelsea actually have a good record against the big teams, its usually against the lesser teams that they throw away stupid points abit like Liverpool in recent years, after all you get the same amount of points for Beating Man Utd as you do for Beating West Brom.

I think it would be a little bit foolish of Chelsea if they considered selling Cudicini and Gudjohnsen. They're too valuable as players for the team.

Theres some other players there that chelsea could sell (albeit for less), reduce their wage bill (big factor at chelsea) without affetcing the first team too much.

That said, money is money and if they can't raise money from the sale of periphary players then maybe they'll have to offload some bigger names.

CL qualification should be a given at this stage, and 2nd place should be the realistic goal. Although in saying that, if they can keep up the recent form, and take advantage of other top teams beating each other, they might win it.

And the problem in recent years has been the inability to put away the weaker teams, not the stronger ones.

Nothing is a given at this time of year. It is not even Christmas yet. Everyone down to Newcastle has it all to play for. Leeds are the only big team I would rule out of the race.

true waylander nothing is guaranteed at all this soon in the season and yep leeds for me aswell are the only team not gonna be in the top 6 or 7 come the end of the season

What I was trying to say is that if Chelsea throw away a top 4 place from this stage they will only have themselves to blame. For me a CL place is a cert. Other than that, there is a lot to play for, you are right. Except for dirty Leeds, they're out of the running.
