Once upon a time I would rush out for the Xmas double isuess of RTE Guide and Radio Times, now I dread the whole Christmas TV
    thing...

    >edit Just downloaded that digiguide thing and hey its cool!, but if I have to pay to register in a month I'll not bother, I hardly watch telly since utv flat-rate arrived.

I still do that and then I go to the page that lists all the films that will be on for the two weeks and I mark the ones I plan to watch with a highlighter.
    Pretty sad. :p

I see Network 2 actually advertised that woeful piece of dog-turd Escape from New York with Kurt Russell as part of their Christmas line-up, things are getting very very bad :)

I think its excellent value, myself. I've been using it for a few years now, and I signed up for 5 years, only cost £25stg and pound for pound, (or euro for euro :D) it has been the best thing I have bought on the Interweb, in terms of usefullness and reminding me of programmes to watch. Like, how many Radio Times or RTÉ Guide's will you buy for that price?? Every programme has far more detail for it than any listings magazine, and it even doesnt have a knitting pattern or cookery section :D

I'm hope I dont sound like I'm whoreing the product, but it really is great, I cant recommend it enough.

    Right..........

    Somethings amiss here........

    FILM: It's a Wonderful Life
    Channel: TV3
    Date: Wednesday 25th December 2002
Time: 9:45 am to 12:15 pm (starting in 16 days)
Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

    then......

    FILM: It's a Wonderful Life
    Channel: Network 2
    Date: Wednesday 25th December 2002
Time: 2:05 pm to 4:40 pm (starting in 16 days)
Duration: 2 hours and 35 minutes.

    and then!

    FILM: It's a Wonderful Life
    Channel: BBC 2 Northern Ireland
    Date: Wednesday 25th December 2002
Time: 5:50 pm to 7:55 pm (starting in 16 days)
Duration: 2 hours and 5 minutes.

I can think of a new channel!

    "It's a Wonderful Life" 24

God you could spend all day watching it.
That's the thing about Christmas, the same thing is usually on two different channels on the same day.
Examples: Titanic when it premiered[sp]. Chicken Run is the same this year.
    That's all I can remember.

Wow! Thats a cool application! Is there any way for it to just give you a film guide instead of the full daily listing?

I've been browsing the guide and I'll be watching less TV than ever, just about every film is a repeat, they've got Titanic on RTE 1 again!
Not to mention all the tradition flicks for ther umteenth time. And I fear I spotted a Only Fool and Horses Xmas Special, sigh :(

Chicken Run could be the highlight.

Good, good - it's been a few years since I saw it last. Wonderfully dark (even the ending isn't too sugary). I practically applauded the year C4 showed Kind Hearts and Coronets on Christmas day.

Do what I do. Highlight each different genre with a different colour. For me, Blue = Sport , Brown = Films, Red = News and so on. Do that in Edit -> Edit -> Category markers. Even give one programme a special colour, such as The Simpsons. :) Also, click on the channel's logo, and it gives you a newspaper style listing for that channel.

Oh, and the Christmas editions of the Radio Times and TV Times will be on sale tomorrow. I'll still get them! The one thing about Digiguide is I cant bring it into the lav!

i downloaded it again last night. it seems to have vanished from the last time i had it. and it is great. a billion times better than the RTÉ Guide which i fear i'll be getting anyway because of its portability

yeah digiguide is great. Now all i need to do is to find a way to watch 2 different channels at the same time.

I think some blank videos could be in order for over the christmas period.

Digiguide is great, i got it there a few months ago. Only 11 euro per year, way cheaper than 52 tv guides. ;)
