    http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,56674,00.html

Not a bad article - interesting reading at least. I've always thought of the Mac community as sometimes being quite (justifiably) fanatical about their machines.

Before the flaming starts, I'd buy a Mac if I was buying a machine tomorrow (or next week, next year...). Someday.

The Mac is Catholic, he wrote in his back-page column of the Italian news weekly, Espresso, in September 1994. It is "cheerful, friendly, conciliatory, it tells the faithful how they must proceed step by step to reach -- if not the Kingdom of Heaven

What is this guy on ???
The Windows PC, on the other hand, is Protestant. It demands "difficult personal decisions, imposes a subtle hermeneutics upon the user, and takes for granted the idea that not all can reach salvation.

    I beg to differ :p

Funny read, but nothing changes the fact that the PC is better, and I'm a catholic :D

Its funny how life is. 3 years ago i was the biggest Mac Evenagelist ever. Id tell anyone who would listen how cool macs were and ask them why they bothers with thier crap PCs. In short, i was a pain in the arse :)

A good mate of mine was always at me about it and reckoned hell would freeze over before hed use one.

Im not sure what happened but now 3 years later, Im typing this on a PC and hes a bigger mac evangelist than i EVER was. He emailed me the above link in what can only be described as an effort to Save My Soul last week. The accompanying note was something like "Its not too late you know, Macs ARE like catholics all you have to do is confess and accept Jobs into your life" !:)

I like Macs but I find I rarely need to use them. Still have two at home. But have to say the holier than thou / evenagelist attitude of most of the mac forums and emails lists has put me right off macs lately.

1 - you have got a virus or adware or spyware before

2 - finder is bad? The Registry is terrible!.

But it is a matter of choice, but dont pick and choose which bits of each os are crap and be highly biased.

Personally the mac people I've spoken to/met are not fanatical at all. (it is the fanatics that make the most noise though).

    (not directed at the OP)
What I have found is how people come out of the woodwork to tell me how much of a fanboi I am for owning a mac and how much mac sucks so much. Despite them never actually using one. Also how windows is so much better, blah, blah, blah.

Thought it was funny at first, now it gets tiresome. I'd explain why they are wrong, but tbh it has been done to death. Main point is I am happy with my purchase. As far as I am concerned it has more then paid for itself.

So I can understand why some Mac owners might get aggressive in their responses.

I've said it many times before but I think Windows Explorer is far better than finder. Just to add I have PC and MBP and like using both of them.
