had a bit of an argument with a friend last night who said i couldnt come up with 10 bass playing lead singers-so if anyone knows some, help me out! i ahve 3:

i think dave grohl does play bass, but i dont know if he actually does it for the foo fighters.

Nah... Trey Azagthoth plays lead guitar for Morbid Angel, and he's damn good at it too! You must be thinking of David Vincent, Steve Tucker or Jared Anderson. They all played bass on vocals for Morbid Angel, they're looking for another singer though.
