Irish channels in the UK

Hi

I'm wondering if there's a way to receive RTE channels in the UK. I have a sky digital installation in my home in England and have just cancelled my subscription to Sky.

My folks live in Dublin and they've already got Sky - does that block me from subscribing at their address for a second subscription?

Could I use the Irish card in the UK box or would I need a new digibox? (I'm thinking of switching to Freeview in England for BBC channels).

Would I get a free digibox if I subscribed to Sky in Ireland? If not, how much?

Hi there,

Yes, unfortunatley its one house, one Sky Sub, as it is in the UK. But a way round this is, I've heard, if they have a house number, like No. 25, if you used No. 25A, its sufficient to Sky that its a different address. Might be worth a bash. Also, a no-brainer here, an Irish bank account to get the Direct Debits.

No, a new box is not really needed. Bring your box to Ireland, sign up for Sky contract here, bring your box back, Irish TV in England

Not necessary, see above.

If you had kept your sub to Sky, you know, the best for both places would be just to swap boxes..... You get the Irish channels on Sky, the folks at home get the BBC, ITV, Ch5 and Ch5, as well as the Sky sub. Beautiful, best of both worlds!

also there will be no need to connect your box to a phoneline for 12 months
