    i've just heard that my oldest cat has this:(
    does anyone have any info on it, such as; are the other 2 cats safe from infection, how long should i expect him to live etc...

    sorry about the depressing topic

    Actually this ailment is quite common. There is a vaccination however, to prevent it, but as Hellrazer said, no cure.

    I got news for you guys this is very very common. My girlfriends parents cat died from this a few weeks ago. She had a dark patch around her chest and was very sick so they called the vet. He knew immediatly what it was and put the cat down. He said that this was very common but not many people were aware of it. He said that a Tom cat probably had it and was infecting loads of cats in the area. We were worried bacause my son had played with the cat on loads of occasions. Anyway humans cannot contract aids from animals is what our doc told us.
