    Hi,

Just got a new Dell, with an integrated Intel 10/100 PCI network adapter. Now, another PC just needs a network card and cables to connect the two pcs directly ? Or if anything else is required ? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Alan

    Alan,

You need to make sure that the cable you use is a crossover cable. These are pretty handy to pick up the other option is buy a cheap hub and then you can have room for more machines.
You will also need to configure tcp/ip on both machines.

To make your life easier if possible have the same os on each machine.

Anything else you need to know give me a shout.

    Tip.
