where's the best place to buy a really (really!) cheap electric guitar ?

it has to be left-handed, so was also wondering about restringing right handed guitars...does this work for all guitars ? (right handers are cheaper :p)

its kinda a christmas present thing, but on the chance that it wont last the 12 days of christmas i wanna spend as little as possible hehe. also gonna need amp and the like, so any suggestions would be good

    thanks

ahh i don't think you can just restring a right handed electric to left handed. I think it has something to do with tightness or something. As for amps you could just buy a small practice one for like €42 off Guitar Trader

What the hell are you talking about? Of course you can restring a right-handed guitar to a left handed one. But on some guitars it wouldn't work aswell. If you do this you would recommend you do it with a guitar that has a double cut-away, like a stratocaster.

Argos to grand guitars nice and cheap. Its not the first place you thinkk of but the quality is fine if your just starting off. You get an amp and instruction video with it too so its good for first timers.

I didn't say it was a sh1t guitar to begin with, but I sure as hell wouldn't buy from Argos! They are not cheap for what they give.

And what guitar were you refering to anyway? A Squier?

    And screw your profanities!

so, i'm thinking of going the really cheap way and just getting a 2nd hand guitar
i know a guy who said he'd sell me a telecaster for dirt cheap

just wondering if that restrings for lefties ok and if it's a decent guitar or no ?

most likely gonna be used to play grunge / nirvana type stuff, so comments would be appreciated

Technically, A telecaster wouldn't really be very good to use left handed. You won't be able to reach up on very high frets due to it not having a cutaway on both sides. You see, when you string the guitar to use left-handed the guitar is played upside down, Jimi Hendrix style.

Although it might not matter if your just playing grunge?nirvana because you probably won't need to reach very high notes. but I'm not sure. You'll have to ask someone who's into Nirvana. I wouldn't know.
