My brother is getting a dog after New Year's.

It's a Cairn Terrier - the black version of a West Higland Terrier (apparently). T'is only practically a newborn puppy right now.

Anyone got any good names for it?... he can't think of any...

One thing with picking names for a dog I think is to find a name that has good audible characteristics so that it can easily tell when you are shout ing out loud to it to come back!

i.e our past few dogs were called Oscar and Tosca. S's are good and T's too I think.

We had a dog called Toffee which is a good audible name but also a dog called Fudge which isn't the best audible name.

Anyway Gordon is a good name all round! :D

Those or else call it "Chizwuzza"

Same breed of dog that Barry found in Bachelors walk last night so I think you should call it "NOEL"

I'd suggest you wait until you see the puppy, take a good look at his/her face, and then whatever name pops into your head is the *right* name for it.

And pick one that isn't gonna embarass you when you're standing in the middle of the street shouting it.

You at 5am at front door in your PJs: "Come here Satan"

Not good, not good at all.

But as c0y0te said, you really out to wait till you see it.

"arse" is a brilliant name for a dog/cat/small child.

i'm reminded of the embarassing names post....imagine trying to call out arse when your dog runs away from you in the park. the looks!

i read a book where the woman got a dog already caled nifkin, which i think is this area between a mans arsehole and penis somewhere. i bet she had fun in the park calling that out.

    Call it,
    • Tayto
    • Horse
    • Sausage
    • Porky

If you should use either Sausage or Porky
and anyone asks if its because the dog likes swine produce,
tell them no, its because it likes to fnuk pigs. :)

Why not "Denethragon : Dark hound of the seven sisters of shalalblaklah"?

I think that one's fairly catchy myself, and there'd be much hilarity when taking it for walks.

I had a Collie once called Pagan because thats what my mother used to call me since I refused to go to Mass...
I figured that there could be two of us :)

Thinking about the whole "shouting the name out in the park" side of things... You could name your dog "Woof!" or "Arf Arf!"
Then when you called their name and they responded it would look like you were speaking Dog :)

    DeV.
