ITV News on Astra 2 Encrypted?

    Has anybody else noticed that ITV News on Astra 2 is now encrypted?

    Funny how they're able to do that now but a few weeks ago removed the channel from the EPG altogether. FFS! :rolleyes:

    And on cable we have an Intermission (aka Blank Screen) until 10pm. Oh well.

    yep deffo encrypted still got the listing on the sky guide though could be just for tonites match will know tomorrow if its back then ull have ure answer. tried adding it to channels but just got the 08 message

    thanks for the replies!

    i should have known that really. i just thought they were a bit more surgical about when the turn it on and off - kinda like the way they stopped the Sunday Game from showing.

    I guess it is a bit more complex for ITV news where they have to turn the whole encryption system on and off to block the matches!

    Phoned Sky.. ITV News will be back today on Irish cards. They (Sky staff) had directive to encrypt this channel from before CHampions League game until the following day. This is a big step in the right direction after blocking the channel for 3/4 weeks last time.

    A victory for anyone on this forum who complained I'd say!!
