What's your earliest memory?

This is about as retro as it gets for most people:

    What's your very earliest memory?

I'm certain that I remember lying in my cot and seeing my Grandma and Grandad peer around the door to look at me. That's more than likely a figment of my imagination though.

My earliest substantiated memory is holding my newly born baby bro' for a cheesy family photograph. This would make me 4 years old. Quite amusing really as the guy in question (my 'little' brother) is now 6 foot 3" and built like a brick s**thouse!

My first memory was when I was 2 or 3 and I was in my cott at night and wanted to get out so I tried and ended up having one leg out and the other in, and that was from the top.

    T'was sore...

My kid brother did something similar with a split-door we had. Over the top, cracked his noggin on a concrete step and landed in a load of snow.

Not a scratch on him, much to my mother's delight!

Sent you a reply pm but your mail is full Victor.

(Actually in retrospect (hehe) I think that my first memory was in a bed when a thief came in to my room to steal my Tonka truck :( maybe)

My first retained experience was when I was 3, and was walking back up the garden with my dad, very mundane I know but it stuck proberly because like all young boys I was aping his movment, he was whilstling so I tried (!) and he had his hands in his pockets so I did too. It was a foggy cold day.

    Mike.

Sitting in my pram having photo taken by American cousin when I was about a year. Walking by myself over to my granny (with heart in mouth) for first time when I was about 18 months and NOT falling. I could walk well before that but was too scared to do it without holding on to anything. Sitting on Granny's lap while our first TV was being set up when I was two. Loads of stuff after that.....:D

    Damn the evil neighbour
Mine was at the tender age of 3 and 3/4s. I used to go to a plyaschool down the road but the only thing I can remember (possibly because it was the coolest thing EVER) is the indoor swing! I can remember looking at someone on it and thinking "GET OFF!"

I remember my first steps, I was one ish i suppose and I was on holiday with my family in Kerry, it was on a bit of grassy land at the top of the beach, funny thing is even though I remember things like that from when I was super young practically all of primary school is an incredible blank to me! weird huh?

My earliest vivid memory was when I reversed my Dad's car out the drive-way onto the road. Me and my younger brother tried to push it back up the drive, with my littlest bro still in the back seat.

    I was 4. Can't remember if I was punished, everythings a blur after then ... :D

    Good thread!

I can remember the exact day of my earliest, most vivid memory. Me and my brother and sister stayed at a neighbours house watching Noel Edmonds on Swap Shop on a colour TV (a novelty in itself to us!) when the rest of the clan went to Drogheda for the Pope's visit.

    Saturday 29th September 1979. I would've been approaching my 3rd birthday. :)

My earliest memory would be standing up in my cot and crying. I'm not sure how old i was, but must have been fairly young to be still in a cot. Also remember a christmas when i was two and a half. Not sure which came first.

My first memory is when I was in the hospital with my mam (Four or Five) waiting to see my new baby sister. When the baby came out my dad pulled out a box of shortbread and said they were from Caitriona. I was astounded!

The shortbread was connected to a movie me and my dad liked. some song with a giant whale dancing and singing about shortbread. Can't remember it.

the one thing i remember most clearly from being a kid is when my sister kicked out one of my new baby teeth , when we were fighting , but she didnt mean to kick the tooth out , just to kick me , an i was jus roaring and roaring and me mammy went absolutely mental oer it

Speaking of Noel Edmunds, don't remeber swap shop at all, but do remember Noel's house Party. Oh for a house like that! Remember the gunge tank??? I used to live for Mr Blobby in the early days!

I have plenty of fond memories of laying beats on my kid brother, but they aren't necessarily my earliest. :)
