I'm treating my parents to a week away somewhere at christmas.
anyone have any ideas as to a nice place to spend christmas?

has to be somewhere in europe, or not too expensive to get to. not very specific guidelines, i know, but i'm just looking for a few suggestions.

If they can get away **before** Christmas, you could send them to the Canaries for €239-299 pps.

    Caravanning in Wales?

I was in Prague recently and it was a great city for the older folk. Lot's of 'tourist attractions' to stumble past in search of an even cheaper pub. It's a very cheap place to stay - we got a great meal in a top retsaraunt for €5 a head.

Just have a quick look in the news b4 u send them. There was worries about massive inflation and food shortages after the flooding. It probably wouldn't hurt to check a weather forcast either :)

Ryanair usually have reasonably priced flights to UK, Paris, and Brussels in Jan.

I've been to Brussels twice, its a lovely spot. I'd love to go again.

have been in Paris once. Its fantastic, such a touristy place. And a good spot for the romantic at heart.

Wales is meant to be fab too, though I've never been there.

If Aer Lingus have any cheap fares left, try Vienna. The city is covered in outdoor Christmas markets at this time of year and also has lots of historic bits and pieces to visit. Good classical music also very easy and cheap to come by. Should also be bloody freezing with a good chance of snow.
