"Channel 4" E! tests / feeds ?? (was Ireland Greece game)

The "Channel 4" labelled test on 11565V is currently showing a feed of the lead-up to the Ireland v Greece game.

Meanwhile it's EPG info is for E!

It's still showing the match, albeit with no commentary or graphics. Will not work if u pull card out and will not work on FTV Card. Wonder what all this means????

So,if it is not the E! channel,could it still be a test for Channel 4 Ireland? The E! listings were not on all day. It just said 'further schedule information not available' at about 4:30pm.What is going on?

Why would either E! or Channel 4 be showing a feed for an Greece/Ireland football international?????????

Exactly.I am intrigued by the whole situation.I would hope that it is Channel 4 in the end.But,I don't have a clue,neither does anybody else.Wait and see,the only option(or ring Sky and ask them???).

I would indeed hope that it's C4 for ROI. It's encrypted on (london) FTV card. Wonder if it works on UK subscription card? If not, it would be interesting!

It's reverted to colour bars but the EPG info is still for E!.

The info comes on at 6 and ends at 12.

E! will be starting with a six hour schedule before a full launch later, so it all points to it being a test for E! This would also explain why it's not viewable with a London FTV card.

Meanwhile the other test channels on that frequency (Tests 1, 2 and 3)have been showing E4 and FilmFour previews. this would give weight to the Channel 4 theory.

Frankly, it's a mystery.

Hey just to confirm a few things... 11565 Channel 4 is on the UK sub card... currently showing Big Bro with no logo...

Test 1 / 2 showing Film4 previews with Filmfour teletext in full operation on p100.

Test 3 is showing the Irish version of E4 with E4 Text on p300 (here in the UK we only have 4Tel from p300) also on P101 it shows the NTL Ireland Ad information.

What all this means is anyones guess and why the Irish footy was on last night who knows... was it a clean feed... no station logos?

Not true they have bought the rights to some or all of the away games which is why they were able to show it on Sky Sports.

who is carrying out these tests because today at about 5.40 pm i was watching the people at the BBC 6.00 news getting ready for broadcast. they were practicing news reports, the headlines and talking about news to each other. it was very interesting to see what goes on.

then at about 7 it had a programme about David Blaine and the time he stood on that pillar

god only knows what will be on tomorrow

At 12am it was broadcasting the 'Premier League Preview Show'! What the hell is this? It actually showed the same programme twice.

This is just plain f'n weird.Right NOW it has an ident for the 'London News Network'.It has a pic of the houses of parliament with Digital Transmission Centre.Some woman keeps saying 'this is lnn transmission,line krs 55'.ALSO,literally 5 mins ago it had Idents for ITV1 rolling with the characters out of Cold Feet in it.James Nesbitt and the English one who was in Friends in like 1998 marrying one of the guys in it.There was also an ad for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire LIVE for Saturday.
UPDATE:Now their is colour bars saying 'KRS 5/55 Commercial Playout Friday 22nd November 2002 Starting at 14:30

I reckon its a production house feeding items to different broadcast networks... at the moment adverts are being fed out from the company listed above.

At around lunchtime the channel had phone numbers listed for various departments of Tower Broadcast Centre in London. Maybe this is a feed for them?

It seems to be showing Sky Sports 1 in the clear now.

Earlier on they had a feed of one the presenters getting ready for a broadcast - very funny watching him fixing his hair.

Weirdest test stream I've ever seen anyway.

It seems to show Sky Sports 1 when something live is on. With no logos, or ads, the mics and camera are kept rolling during breaks as well.

Tonight Sky Sports 1 showed a live u16 soccer match from Largan and after the game, I could hear that Scottish anchorman talking to one of his producers, about moving house to Galway or something.

It showed him recording stuff to be shown on the highlights tomorrow as well: "Tonight's game was between... etc"

Hopefully it will stay on for Man Utd vs Newcastle tomorrow morning. :-D

I was just looking at 11565 v (Channel 4) and its pretty weird,
a black screen with flickers of channel 4....
could this be the start of it...... i hope so!!!!

showing the sky sports team getting ready for the united newcastle match. About 15 mins ago there was some kid sitting in the chair waving to the camera. I think its was brooklyn beckham.

I seen andy gray putting his tie on. It was funny to watch.

There was no sound just a tone.


any idea what exactly this channel is doing or going to be showing.

Is this channel FTA?

My guess is that it will show the Man U - Newcastle game, but with no ads or anything. Should be interesting.

The sound is on now. Andy Gray was preparing since before 9.30, and the buildup doesn't start until 12!

I thought the kid might of been Richard Key's son.I caught 'Keysey' buffing his shoes earlier and then he was chatting to Niall Quinn about the various Television Boxes they are allocated at each ground.He says Chelsea give you nothing and Aston Villa built a really nice studio for them but after a while they decided it was too nice and changed it to a restaurant!:D

E! Entertainment has begun testing on DSAT ahead of its launch on Sky next month.

American channel E! Entertainment is expected to launch on Sky on December 1, showing news and celebrity profiles, and will form part of the Sky Family Pack subscription.

The test can be found under the Channel 4 label on 11.565V and is currently displaying coloured bars and EPG information.

I subscribe to Sky Sports 1, but I was able to watch the Man U Newcastle game yesterday on "the channel" without a card.

I don't get Premiership+, but I could still watch Spurs Leeds for free on the test channel. No scoreboard or DOG up. I had to have my card in to watch it though.

i am going to ring up and complain and see if i can get some money back from my season ticket because of this error.

Is this is a good idea or not. Dont want to upset boards users

I could see i heard it on the internet that it was free on a new channel testing and i was wondering can i have some money back

Sky will basically tell you where to go with that complaint. i see it has a Blue live OB testcard on now which probably means the Blue concert on SBO tonight will be on that channel

Looks like the free feeds are over. On this test channel at least.

The channel ident has now changed from "Channel 4" to 50560 and is now showing E! programming.

At the moment they're showing the E! Trus Hollywood Story of the Bond girls.

The E! channel should make a good addition to the Sky Digital line-up.
