That thread on mountain boarding has had me thinking and I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and try pick one up around XMas.

Done a few searches but not found anything like what is on offer from US sites.

5 40 boards seemed to be the main one I found over and again.

Basically I was looking for a solid mountain board for use on sand/level terrain with a big 9m+ kite in a harness setup. Preferably just loop not lock in bindings.

Main issue is rider weight. I tend to be fairly into my training and as such my current weight is 225lbs and if it goes anywhere it will be up in the next while. Most boards I have seen are for <200lb riders

Anyone seen any sites I might check or know of Irish dealers? I know a lot of you are skater folk - so figured you may know.

    Cheers,

    JAK.

I have seen them in a few places (dont know the make or anything) Reef in Waterford and Tramore, and Tubes and Incide in Cork, also a place in MacCurtain Street in Cork that seems to specialise in them and i think Emerald Alpine in Limerick do them. That’s all I know.

Try ATB Sports based in the UK, they do the Scrub boards that are in Tubes in Cork but they also do the more expensive boards like MBS and Mongoose.

A guy called Stu runs the place and was very helpful when I mailed him for info, his mail address is info@atbshop.co.uk .

I'm sure if you give him a run down of what you want to use the board for he will recommend one to you.

    Will do.

Sent out some mails, so i will see what the replies if any say.

I'm keen on getting a board, but there are also a few other things I wanted to pickup this Xmas - so a lot will depend on priority and price :)
