Just looking at the prices for pay as go phones on meteor, they are insane, €599 for a t68i???? it's only €459 at expansys, and they arent the cheapest place in the world. They must be of their rocker, howare they expecting to win anyone with those prices. Dont even look at the 7650 prices, they are frightening.

its like saying "dont look down" really isnt it? You tell everyone not to look at the prices and I, being the first to reply, obviously did look at the prices. Shocking isnt the word. Wait.. no, shocking is the word after all!

If I remember correctly however the 7650 is about €520 on vodafone... maybe I misread it as a shot past the shop the other day

I can't understand why Meteor are selling these phones ...

Both incorporate picture messaging (MMS) which meteor doesn't support.

They don't even support GPRS which is the backbone of MMS so chances are they won't support MMS for a long time (if ever!).

Maybe that's why they charge crazy high prices - intentionally to turn people of them.

I find meteor to be cheapest for calls/SMS though.. they told me they hope to have GPRS by early 2003 and beat other operator's prices for the service.

The just announced today that they were launching free texts if you bought €20 worth of credit every month. Only problem is that its only to other meteor numbers. Not that many meteor users around....

whatever their troubles I'll say one thing for them

They have the BEST customer service of any Telco in Ireland, lovely bunch and very helpful and well trained the lot.

If they went belly up (hope not) I would recommend their staff to anybody.

I wouldnt be able to rate their customer service team but their network quality is dire. If any one asked me what network to choose I would either say vodafone or o2.
