Nintendo this morning announced a new peripheral for the GameCube. The peripheral, which uses one of the ports underneath, allows you to play Gameboy, Gameboy colour and Gameboy Advance games through the GameCube. (Not all games are compatible)

It is a move I'm sure that was a hard one for nintendo to make, It *might* increase GC sales, but it's a given that it will decrease GBA sales.

Its set for release in march of next year in Japan, and May in USA. No Euro release date was given. It will cost 5000 yen ($41) on launch.

(this is not the highly rumoured 'megaton' announcement either, November really is Nintendo's month.)

Afaik that's just a thing to allow you to use the GBA as a controller for the GC. Like a VM controller on the Dreamcast.
It doesn't affect GBA games, it doesn't enhance the GBA, just let's it do something newish.

No, its a deck that goes under your GC that lets you play GB, GBC and GBA games on your TV. Not the link cable, thats already out.
