it's been a long time a coming - last word was a Dec release in some territories and then wider in the new year - no date from the Operators here though

you can find some links to it's latest whitepaper and handbook here:

If you want a hands on - Ericsson will demo the P800 and T68i at the Wireless Wednesday event: 20th November 2002 Venue: The Adam Suite at The Shelbourne Hotel, Stephens Green, Dublin 2

To the best of my knowledge it won't be around until after Christmas. Both networks are saying that they'll be selling it.

I agree. It's a sweet phone and I have my eyes on one too.

and that nice Swedish phone company have been kind enough to give me one too (we supply s/w to that nice phone company).

Lovely phone - touch screen is really good. Battery life could be better but I guess its more like a pda than a phone and you have to think of it that way.

As far as I can see (Sony)Ericsson are more interested in promoting a political "British Isles" agenda against Ireland on their websites than selling phones to Irish consumers.

Visit www.sonyericsson.com and click on their European map and look at the choice....

    regarding sale in ireland.
there is no sales or support offices setup in ireland to provide backup if anything happens to the phones.
this is due to change (afaik).
and so what if the url has /uk/ in it??

would expect they would be more interested in promoting their phones and devices!

unless you think it's a big conspiracy! examples:
www.apple.ie -> www.apple.com/ie -> links mostly go to /uk/ site and titled: Apple (UK and Ireland)
www.microsoft.com/ireland/ -> check links on the RHS some of them go to the /uk/ site
    etc.

realistically - unless the size of the market here makes it feasible to have a dedicated irish site then companies won't build a one - or they will merge it into their euro sites

it's a step up to have it split into UK&Ireland rather than have a blanket European site

have to say you're being a bit paranoid or not thinking about the relalities of business / markets

anyone know what price range the P800 is going to be in. Have read on certain forums it's ranging from €750 - €1250. As i only bought an xda 4 months ago for €630, even tho i'd love P800, can't see myself paying those prices. Pity tho.
