Dont get too excited, the first episode is bound to be about
    scene-setting than mortal embarassment! :)

    >edit Just seen it and a bit patchy but it'll gather steam I'm sure.

    the funniest bit was
    "CASHBACK!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Don't mean to be critical but I thought it was poor apart from the opening scene the rest fell flat and I've discovered the problem, there's no situation the situation is bascially the garage and his caravan, as well as weak writing he's been gone for far too long 5 years is a long time. On the evidence of last night the first series is far superioir because there was a better situation, can't stand his girlfirned, I long for Ricky Gervais but I'm still going to watch it next week.

Alan-If I remember correctly you caned me in school because i had a penis drawn on my back.
Teacher-Oh be reasonable Alan,it was a long time ago!
Alan-Yes.Thats what elderly nazi war criminals say when they are found out.
    :D
Yeah it was a fairly good show last night. Some other great bits included Alan and his old school friend who had become a teacher.
Alan-So what are you doing nowadays?
Teacher-Oh im one of the big boys in this school now.
    Alan-What are you?A prefect?

Last nights episode was an improvement on the first. Thank god they kept Michael in it. The Apache helicopter bit was brill. Still though the second series isn't a patch on the first :(

Only marginally better than last weeks Michael was the star of the show "There's no porn like" I liked the ending when Alan's foot went thoguh the spike and was puking at the conference.:D
the chemistry like the first season is not there as of yet.

The funniest moment last night was when he started telling Lyn that her friend was a con artist and when he started screaming Dan constantly. lol
The Dan character became so character.
Still not as funny as the first series.

Oh it was outstanding the best ep by far of the season and possibly ever

    "We're having a hoe down"

Love the part when he renacted the spy who loved me he's met his math in old Gordon.

That scene where Lyn accidently spilled the orange juice onto the videos had me in stitches.

"Ah,a visit to your mothers grave and then Dr No.An evil genius who lives underground.......and Dr No":D
It isnt as good as the first two episodes lately but still funny enough. The bit where he was acting out the spy who loved me scene by scene was classic.
"Right but your hand in a circular shape to your eye.Imagine im Roger Moore and BANG!Imagine blood spewing down"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

While its nowhere as sharp as the first series, Partridges decription
of the opening 10 mins of "The Spy Who..." was classic, too acuarate to be not scary!

    Mike.

    "Since de aaaaayties."

Last nights Partridge was abysmal the worst of the lot the jokes were very weak. The only funny moment was the guy posing as Bono.

Though it is not as good as the beginning of this series and has slowed down a little I thought it was very good last night.
The line he delivered when driving up to"Bonos"house was class.

Sonia"Those are very nice trees lining the driveway"
Alan"Yes,I believe they are Joshua Trees":D

Went out last night with a bang, I was in stitches when they were showing a flashback of him eating toblorones and driving to Dundee. You could see his breakdown coming at The Baptism, despite being a very hot and cold series not a patch on the first it still had its moments.
