    Hi,
I have a Nokia 8310 on contract with O2 for about 6 months. Is there any way at all this contract can be finished before the 12 months is up?

    Yes and no.

Yes you can give a months notice in writing. No, they will charge you the remaining rental charges until the end of the 12 month period.

You can switch down to the basic Select to save you a bit, but I've never heard of anyone getting away with not having to pay the remaining rental charges.

A mate of mine claimed that he wrote a letter to the phone company telling them he was emigrating. He says that it worked and they cancelled the contract. He's not the most reliable person in the world though;)
