Glad to say i was there. Fantastic performance by every player. Defence was solid as a rock with O'Gara kicking 6/6.

    A great day.

Good day for irish rugby, was disappointed brian o driscol(sp) didnt get man of the match, he played twice the game O'Gara did. Also Shane Byrne found his man all day and had only one slip up in the game, while he was on, and played brilliantly.

Good performance, but it was'nt the "real" Austrialia was it, more a
    good a-side.

Australia were the best available, they had a few injury problems, but then so did we. They were tactically poor, where we were strong. We gave it our all, I really don't thiink they did.

Oh, and Aussies can't play in the rain for sh1t.

Terrefic game better result, now all we have to do is repeat in Melbourne in 12 months time.

    Low lie etc

best peformance in a long time, Mike Fords defence work really showed...

Now the big question is if we can get within 60 points of England in the 6 nations :)

    Hi guys,

Excellent win - we've now beaten England, Australia and France all in one 18-month period - played!

We played the Australians own defensive game against them, and beat them at it. I am delighted at our tackling, and final 20 minutes (err, or maybe that should be 26 :)). Holding them out was a major victory in itself.

Whilst it is true that they came into this game with about 4 injuries to important players, it is absolute bull to compare that to an A-side. Also, Ireland was missing at least 2 key players, so it's unfair to detract from our victory in this way. ymmv I guess. :)

Fair play to RoGo, that's the way to get revenge for the vicious attack down under last year, it's only a pity that his attacked didn't make the squad :)

We have always had the courage, we have recently acquired the skills, and now finally we have the tenacity, strength in depth, and belief to start taking on the top teams. I just hope we don't collapse against the minnows - a straight 6 victories going into next year would be nice!

    Al.

Fair play to O' Gara and no offence to the man but those were not difficult kicks, especially for an international kicker. His work keeping the Aussies in their own half was exceptional, as was the entire team's. O' Driscoll was my man of the match due to his superb tackling and work overall. He took the hits whereas O' Gara took the kicks. Definitely a well-deserved Irish win and did anyone think the Australian got that try? I don't think Shane Horgan even got a finger to it!

I thought this might have been one of those rare occasions when MoM went to a forward as they had a fantastic game in all aspects. Possibly even Victor who had a fantastic game?

Also the crowd support was phenomenal even before we realised we might win. People even sang "Ireland's Call" though I don't think anyone yet looks comfortable doing this. Have to say it does tend to get the old hairs rising:)
