Its good(ish) news though inevitable too as the directive from UEFA said two dif companies must split the League between them, which in Ireland, obviously meant RTE would get one night a week.

I for one much prefer to watch soccer on N2.
Cant stand the commentry on TV3 not to mention the fact I get better reception on N2

The TV3 coverage for champions league is poor, The pundits are weak , presenters wooden and commentators annoying.

RTé are more professional and have better pundits IMO

always prefered them to tv3's football commentators for various reasons.

George Hamilton and Jim Beglin do my head in but TV3 do not provide any better a service, and their adds go on for pretty much the entire half time interval, so I guess I am happy enogh to see it go back to RTE.

Well, it's a relief for all the poor sods in Achill, where they can't get a TV3 signal, and won't unless they fork out for Sky Digital.

I am from achill and i know how to turn on my TV and i dont get TV3. I do have Sky and i do watch TV3 on that.

TV3 say its too costly to bring it to Achill because they have to pay RTE to rent space on trnasmitters and because of the mountians in the west it was too costly.

Are you from achill Mountjoy Mugger or just know people there.

Yup - from Achill alright. Living in Dublin a long time now though. I remember the first time I was looking for TV3 there - Ireland were playing Croatia - on TV3..

I think one hotel down the Island had TV3. Was it the Slievemore? Anyway - that's the last time I watched TV3 there. Bad memories that night...

What part of the isalnd you from. I am from ashleam.

I am away at college but do watch TV3 now and again at the weekends.

Have it in college in castlebar and the picture is bad at the best of times.its good when you are not watching it and crap when you are not.
