guys, I have a geforce graphics card dying on me, the fan is pretty damn noisy. Anybody know where I can get this looked at/repaired ? I don't think its a good idea just to unplug the fan from the board, the thing might fall over completely with the heat

This should really be in HW Tweaking or in Tech.
Goto maplin and get a chrome orb, head home, pop the old sink off and fit the new one, problem solved and takes 10mins to do if ya got the sink.

A mate had a Geforce2 Ultra from Creative Labs that had a fan start to rattle on him. CL were willing to replace the card under warranty but he just put a new (better) fan on himself and oc'ed it...

the freezer trick works well apparently

yeah, heard about that trick. You put the card in a air tight bag and leave it in the freezer overnight?

anyway, the fan aint so bad now, It was dust that was causing the problem. Back as it should be ;)
