Rooneys goal yesterday!!! sensational wouldnt be the word. left eirik bakke on his hole. then he so cheekily tried the lure on radebe. radebe was trying to bide his time but before he could blink rooney had found his range, knocked it under radebes legs and into the back of the net. the kid is magic. his 2 goals so far have been superb, spectacular , pure magic for a just turned 17 year old kid. as well as anything he just seems to be loving every second of the speculation about him. he's going out there as d'unbelievables jon kenny would put it, and enjoying himself

He does look incredibly promising but people probably should try not to get too carried away just yet. Danny Cadamarteri was being hailed as the next Michael Owen a few years ago and where is he now?

true enough i supose. When the oul paychecks start flowing in and the nights out become more frequent it may prove a big test for him to know his limits as he is a young lad. a very strong lad though. he has shown so much class over the last few games that, although im not an everton fan, i would be bitterly disapointed to see such a class act become of nothing. Still there was alot of pressure on Owen and he's always maintained a reasonable scoring record as did that fella umm?? Shearer i think his name is. i reckon if the english media can only keep one eye on him and let him get on with it he'l be a sensation.

He,he! He must have a grannie called Asumpta somewhere. ;)

Its worth pointing out that Rooney has only been used for cameos
so far, he hits the ground running and then the games over, how he'll cope with 90 mins of chase and tackle is another matter.

    Mike.

didnt his mate say that wayne would be honoured to wear the green shirt for us on "is fearr an Star" yesterday!! personally the papers talk a load of bo:llox esp the star in my opinion but i think it would be worth having a try at signing him up. apparently both his parents are irish and it doesnt go much further then that in levels of family heirarchy. i could of swore andy o'brien had a few england u21 caps before he signed up for ireland. i think moyes is playing his cards spot on with rooney. gradually get him used to the game and introduce him at the right time. one significant thing i find with rooney is that he has a great football brain. he dont seem the striker type like owen or shearer, and strikes me as more of a freddie ljungberg or scholes type player. likes to play in the hole and provide plenty of linkage even tho he'sbrought on as a striker.

There was an article on the english FA site about this , and they quoted a section in the Fifa bye-laws , something about any player who plays at any level internationally cannot play for another nation ....

    Rooney is English :(

Ah well ... we still have a few young stars coming up
