    Hi there,

I'm considering going to the states next summer on a J1. Although, I have travelled to a number of places in Europe, the States will be a first time for me. I'm hoping to travel with a pal.

I was just wondering has anyone else gone to the US on a J1, and where to? We are considering venturing to the Big Apple, is this a good choice???

I'd be greatful if ye could share your experiences with me.

    Memphis

I went to San Francisco 3 years ago on a J1 and I can highly recommend it. 7 of us went over and we had a ball.

Never been to NY but friends of mine who went there said it was brilliant too except too hot during the summer with the humidity etc. SF has a strange climate, never too hot and never too cold, just nice, a bit foggy though!

SF sounds kinda bareable weather-wise. Kinda like Irish weather (but without the rain).

Can persons who were in New York post up there opinions on the place please. I'd be delighted if someone could paint a mental picture for me.

Also, if anyone knows of a good website on NY, please let me know.

    Thanks!

Is the age limit in New York 21 or 23?
Is there now a blanket "21" on all states?

If ya mean an age limit to drink then, yes it is 21 in every state in The US as for as I am aware.
