Film Four should be a free to air channel. They might get more subscribers then and not keep having to give out freebies!!

Only time I watch this channel is courtesy of my ftv card on Saturday afternoons in the summer when uninterrupted cricket coverage is on this channel so we don't have to endure the horseracing on Channel Four!!!!

Hmm. Any of those films any good? Don't sound much though when the channel is free, one cant complain! :D

Pity there is no talk of Carlton Cinema appearing on Sky anymore

I do not believe it .Just my luck .I only started subscribing to this channel last weekend,at €9.00 a month. Some of the films are good, but there is a lot of repeats and film four world needs a lot of concentration as most of the films are sub titled. I would advise viewers to turn off letterbox mode or you could end up watching a very thin strip of film due to the space provided for subtiltles. Having said that four film channels for €2.25 a week is not bad value.

This channel is free for the weekend? I have a digibox, but no card at the moment, will I be able to get it?

Edit: Tried tuning in through other channels, got the "Please insert card" message.

been paying for this channel from the beginning but not sure if its worth it. the times they show movies are all messed up.

film4world would be my favorite, but its in the middle of the bleeding day!

Jean de Florette Film4World Sat 16:00
    Il Postino Film4World Sat 18:00
    The Circle Film4World Sat 20:00
Manon de Sources Film4World Sun 16:00

all 4 of these films are worth the admission alone...but chances are i will miss them.

Is the timing of some of these movies (esp film4world) geared at OTHER time zones?

Usually you have to have an active Sub card for Flim4 or Disney "free" weekends. I've not seen them work on no card or UK FTV card.

I don't think FilmFour are doing themselves any favours. The line up is complete tripe! I remember having the same complaint last time they went FTA for the weekend.

For a brief moment during last Winter I considered subscribing to it, but not now, looking at what they have on this weekend.

Anyone catch Freeway on F4Extreme lastnight? absolutly class film. If all the films they screened where that good I'd probably consider subscribing.

Erm, did you read what you typed? They should go FTA and then they might get more subscribers?

Yeah, the 2 Mathew Bright films on Fir/Sat were excellent especially the first one. I have not watched 2 movies back to back in a long time. Movies like this would never be aired on the Sky Movies channels. Film4 do show movies made by independents that would not be shown by the regular t.v. stations. I am not a subscriber to Film4 but after this weekend I will give it serious thought, would love to see "Sexy Beast" airing on Film4 on Monday night.

Might consider adding it for the very occasional month, stocking up on tapes and recording enough foreign movies to last a while. I'm not claiming to be a foreign movie buff but I do like to watch something good - Sky just don't make the effort here (the only two I can remember for the last while are Le Diner de Cons and Lola Rennt)
