I don't often use my laptop to connect directly to the web but due to maintenance on my desktop I can't use my wi-fi/ics setup at the moment so today I am.
I connected using the usual dial up connection and what do I get?

    "Connected at 115.2kbps"

Who needs ISDN I ask you!

Can anyone explain this? Or are HP omnibooks really that much better than anybody gives them credit for?

That's your port speed, not your internet connection speed.

hate to break the bad news Miltown but you either have the wrong modem driver or the port speed it set to high....

Altough it would be nice to connect @ 115k :))
