I know this point has already been argued by others and lost but I think there really should bt a GAA section. Im interested in Angling etc. and think they deserve their spot but there would be more postings in a GAA section over the winter than these.

It has been argued before numerous times. However as I have said before there is hardly any GAA posts to warrent a separate forum. Rugby had a separate forum and it got hardly any posts. It ended up being re-intergrated with this board.

During the height of the GAA Championship there were hardly any posts, obviously if this changes and there are loads of valid posts then we would be delighted to give GAA a separate forum. Remember this is up to the boards users who are GAA fans. Use this forum for now for all your GAA posts.

As well as Clare Hurlers there are several different GAA Discussion boards about.

The one simply titled "GAA Discussion Board" (http://www.gaaboard.com) grew out of the original unofficial GAA website. It's quite a popular board and unlike CH.com, seems to have contributors from all corners of Ireland. This however tends to give it a football bias whereas CH.com leans more to Hurling. I used to be quite a regular here but I've decided to hold back a bit recently because of personal issues and with some of the ego trippers that have arrived there recently, which IMHO is spoiling a lot of good discussion.

Hogan Stand's website (http://www.hoganstand.com) has message boards at national and county level. Beware though, this is not for the faint of heart beginner! During the Summer this board turned into an absolute farce and the county message boards are often ruined by cross posting, i.e. someone basically coming on to a county website saying they're ****e and we're the best. Not one for someone who wants a good talk about the GAA, more for the type of **** stirrer who happily changes their handle as often as they want (you don't have to register on the HS.com site)

Premierview (http://www.premierview.pro.ie) is a Tipp supporters website but also has a discussion board in a similar vien to that of CH.com, but is less busy.

An fear Rua's site (http://www.anfearrua.ie) has a board as well but little action seems to take place on it with just a few posts a day - but those that do post there are generally well informed posters. This site would rank the lowest on the farcity level, where a newcomer won't be put off. HS.com wins this by miles.

There are some lesser know ones as well, but aren't worth going on to. There's also boards on some county sites.

I would agree that the introduction of a GAA board here would be nice, and I would probably stick to here only if it ever came about, but there just doesn't seem to be enough interest in the main sports board to justify it which is a shame :(

I also can't believe that there ins't a GAA section. I mean, you have a separate section for Angling. I mean, c'mon, Angling? And, AND, you have a section for Pro Wrestling???? That shouldn't even be in the Sports section! It should be in an Arts/Entertainment section...

    Rant over.

Was that a Tipp man saying he regularly check the Official Clare Hurlers website? You are lucky this board is annonymous, you would never be let home again. In fairness I do find it hard to believe that there is enough demand for an Angling board and not enough for a GAA board.

I think you'll find that if you put create the GAA board, the posts will come - although they probably won't start in earnest until March or April.

Regardless, hurling and football are the most popular spectator sports by a mile in Ireland - there should be a section for it.
