Just to let you know - if any of you people have never seen this film, you HAVE TO!!! Its possibly the best film ever made and has two Irish guys in it which is a bonus - Billy Connelly is a hitman in it and its deadly.

IMDB says they are in production for a sequel , seemly it did not get a film release cos' it was out at time of Columbine High School shootings -

'Twas on Sky recently so I watched it. Good on the whole. The movie's premise reminded me of something else (can't for the life of me remember what) but well worth watching.

Annoyingly shite accents on the two boys. Script was a bit tuppeny ha'penny too. Worth a watch, but no classic.

I thought the accents were grand , they were Irish Americans not real Oirish plus the script IMO was fine , the barman with touretts, the ruskie gangsters , italian gansters , dumb police and FBI agent smecker , great mix of cast / characters - Billy Connolly was grreaatt too

Nah, there's a difference between the accent of an American with Irish parents and an American trying to do an Irish accent. It's just me, I suppose, I have a hard time watching any film with crap accents, and can't understand for the life of my why, if they're spending a shedload of cash on special effects etc. (not this film in particular, mind), they can't be bothered either getting a native or an actor with some vocal talent. The barman character was rubbish, he no more had Tourette's disease than Father Jack, and those contrived mix 'n' match seanfhocail...

Maybe I just saw people I know in some of the characters , I know a few older people in family / etc. who mix auld sayings up to humorous effect... The Director of the film troy duffy is Irish American, the two brothers were cast as Irish americans so getting a native would have meant an Irish person trying to do an irish american accent... I know what you're saying about americans doing Oirish accents , e.g Tom Cruise - but the accents did not bother me in this film

Can't wait for next one which will have the same two guys playing the brothers , so maybe you'll want to miss that one

If they get a native Bostonian, or even a dialogue coach, I'll give it a chance Tbh, the Italian accent on the bald guy was even worse than the brothers.
