Wasn't Mike the one who threw away the map?
    Stupid move, whoever it was.
    I blame that guy.

I haven't seen the movie in a while, but didn't the stream-crossing thing happen after the map was thrown away? Remember - the map was gone long before Mike admitted he threw it away.

Either way, it was easily the dumbest move of the entire film. I still say he was to blame.

Yeah thst i think it was the dude who dumped the map`s fault.

I only saw that film there on sunday for the first time as i had avioded for years cause i heard it was crap.
And though it was one of the best crap movies id ever seen, i really enjoyed it, pity about the end but it couldent end any other way though!

Dunno where you heard it was crap from.. the first Blair Witch film is absolutely brilliant..
I spend loads of time camping as a kid in forests so the film totally brought me back and freaked me out (plus when I first seen it I hadn't heard any of the hype and it was in Savoy screen 1.. which helps)... have seen it twice since and still brings across a great atmosphere.

Anyway the guy who threw the map away should have been beaten over the head repeatedly.

Second one isn't even worth mentioning... complete pile of marketing inspired drivel.

The problem with the ending was that they didn't explain it very well. The circumstances surrounding the ending add a great deal to its impact, but these are only revealed in some of the books (I think The Blair Witch Dossier is the one that gives the most information - I could be wrong).

Basically, what 'happened' was that their film had been found in the remains of Rustin Parr's house (the guy who killed all the kids in the 50s), and it was supposed to have been buried for roughly fifty years.

If you watch the film without knowing this, it seems like they just run into 'any' house, and get randomly killed... for no apparent reason.

I know some people might find this out now, and think "oh, how lame", but it was really effective - I was the only one of the group of people I went to see it with that knew this back-story, and I was the one that was most affected by the movie.

Oh, I think some of the documentaries on the DVD explain this too. But by then it's way too late.

T'was her fault. She even admits as much towards the end of the film. Silly bitch.
