    Eat.

I went to the Canaries in January, it rained (like non stop) so I ate. Gives you plenty to do for the rest of the year also - diet

Difficult seeing as they are effectively the same town. Try the island tour. Note the nude beach. There are 2 water parks. Note that the Playa del Ingles part (not sure about Maspalomas) can get a bit wild at night (party wise). Beware of the sun and wind.

my advice is hire a car and travel, the port of mugan (i think that is how it is spelt) is a really nice place to chill, and also i found puerto rico a fantastic place to hang out in, there is some really lovely restaurants in puerto rico, but as previously stated playa da finglas is wild and lively maybe not the family scene.
    But have a good time.

I think there is Mogan (old town) and separately Peurto Mogan (new town) about 5-10 miles aways.

Hmm, indeed - the Shamrock Bar (where I once spent 15 minutes unfortunately) is the biggest dive on the face of the planet.

Complete kip. Almost worth going into for comparison with every other bar you will ever visit for the rest of your life.

Watch out for those dodgy fat women near the shopping complex too while you're at it. Scam artists. Mind you, only idiots get caught out by them.

If you must wander out for drinks in Playa, I'm reliably informed (by a former manager) that Patrick's is one of the very few bars in town that doesn't water everything down.

Car rental sounds like the best bet. Take a trip up one of them volcanothings & get some nice glassy sand between your pinkies.

And if you're thinking of buying electronic goods, they're usually cheaper on Monday and Tuesday than the rest of the week
